The warm, dry weather recently has brought out encouraging numbers of butterflies.

Marbled Whites and Ringlets in particular, have been very obvious around the village. The caterpillars of both species feed on grasses and unimproved grassland is particularly attractive. The fields around Church Orchard behind the church, have hosted good numbers of these two butterflies as well as Meadow Browns and Gatekeepers.
