I found several of these dragonfly larvae today whilst removing algae from the churchyard pond. The eyes are quite prominently raised which suggests Broad-bodied Chaser. I did see adults of this species around the pond earlier in the year. They apparently prefer new waters with visible mud, which fits the bill. Not sure what the other little critter is!
