Very pleased to find a few of these today. Cinnabar Moth caterpillars feeding on their sole food plant, Ragwort. When fully grown, these larvae will pupate on the ground and appear as the attractive crimson and black adult moth next summer. The moth is quite well known as it is very brightly coloured and often flies during the day.
