We had a look for grasshoppers today at the churchyard. Several have been seen in the areas of long grass and we wondered what species have returned. We found one species of grasshopper the Common Field Grasshopper (Chorthippus brunneus) and one species of cricket a Long-winged Conehead (Conocephalus discolor). There may well be other species and we'll have another look in the near future. Both the specimens photographed below had limbs or bits of missing which isn't unusual!
