Jersey Tiger Moth

The very beautiful Jersey Tiger Moth was, until recently, restricted in its UK range to the Channel Islands and south Devon. It is now spreading quite rapidly but still scarce. The Jersey Tiger is at its most attractive in flight when showing off the bright red underwings as well as the cream-striped upper wings. This one was at rest and seen in Staple a couple of days ago.
